Below is a list of bursary opportunities within South Africa. Apart from the list below, there are other bursaries as well. We just listed a few, and hopefully we will be able to issue another list soon. All the best!

AECOM SA (Pty) Ltd) Bursary (Deadline: 15 January 2024)

  • This bursary is for those who aspire to be: Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers (including Rail Engineers), Quantity Surveyors and Environmental Scientists.
  • The bursary covers:- Tuition Fees, Books, and Accommodation all up to a maximum of R100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Rand) per annum. This will also include a laptop up to the value of R8,000.00 (Eight Thousand Rand) once off.

SANZAF Bursary Program 2024 (The Deadlines vary)

  • Bursaries are available for all fields of undergrad studies, at any appropriately accredited South African Public Institute, MANCOSA, and Regent Business School only.
  • All applicants are required to apply to NSFAS as a prerequisite to applying to SANZAF Bursary

Lyceum College Bursary Competition 2024: 1 Million Rand in bursaries (DEADLINE: 29 February, 2024)

  • The bursary applies to the following institutions: Damelin, Lyceum, Damelin Correspondence College, INTEC, and CityVarsity; and is powered by Educor Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
  • The bursary covers the first year of study only and is only available to students and nominees registering for the first time with the institutions listed in clause 5 and for the qualifying courses.

The Gallagher Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships to study at UCT (DEADLINE: March 1, 2024)

  • Gallagher Scholar candidates are citizens of South Africa who reflect academic achievement and evidence of leadership potential. Race, gender, and religion are not considered as factors in scholarship selection. Nine Candidates will be selected to interview with Gallagher Foundation representatives.
  • The Gallagher Foundation Scholarship Covers: Tuition, Books and supplies, Spending money, Room and board, Meals, and Transportation.

The City of Polokwane External Bursaries (DEADLINE: 26 January, 2024)

To qualify you must be:

  • A Learner in Grade 12 or first-year student at a public University. University of Technology or TVET College.
  • Studying towards a first Degree or National Diploma
  • Permanent resident of Polokwane Municipality and coming from a disadvantaged background.
  • Not currently benefitting from any bursary scheme

Moshal Program 2024 (DEADLINE: Not Specified)

  • The Moshal Program is a private, philanthropic program that supports students from challenging socio-economic backgrounds. The program currently supports around 1000 students in South Africa and Israel and takes pride in its 1173 graduates who’ve very successfully graduated with university degrees.

EY Bursary and Training Contract (DEADLINE: 31 January, 2024)

  • Bursaries are awarded to individuals who are committed to qualifying/practicing as a Chartered Accountant and have an academic record that indicates the ability to do so with due regard to financial need. In return for the bursary, the student is required to work at EY for the duration of their training contract (a minimum of three years).
  • To qualify, you must have a South African citizenship and a valid South African identity document.

PPS Foundation bursary for STEM subjects (DEADLINE: 15 January 2024)

  • This bursary is perfect for Young South Africans interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).
  • Preference is given to applicants studying towards a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree, which is considered scarce and critical within the financial sector and, more broadly, across the country.
  • A proportion of the funding may be provided to Humanities students (up to a maximum of 15% of the funding available).
  • PPS Foundation strives to fund all qualifying students comprehensively, including tuition, books, accommodation and meals.

SIOC Community Development Trust 2024 bursary (DEADLINE: 10 January, 2024)

  • This funding opportunity is aimed at supporting the youth from our beneficiary communities (Gamagara; Ga-Segonyana; Joe Morolong; Tsantsabane and Thabazimbi) to prepare for an economically sustainable livelihood.
  • What does the bursary cover?- Registration and tuition fees, accommodation, prescribed study material, laptop, monthly stipend and assistive devices (to enhance learning) for those with disabilities.

Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) 2024 Bursary Applications (DEADLINE: 29-February-2024)

  • The GCRA bursary programme is open to all qualifying youth, with particular preference given to youth from Gauteng, who wish to study for an undergraduate and/or post-graduate programme at an accredited and registered Post School Education and Training institution in South Africa. The bursary covers full cost of study, with conditions, as stipulated in the bursary contract.
  • The Top 3 Grade 12 learners from all No-Fee paying, SSIP and LSEN government schools in Gauteng qualify for a bursary to study at a recognised Higher Education Institution (HEI) or a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College.

Sasria bursary opportunities (DEADLINE: 07 January 2024)

  • Bursary applications are invited for young people who aim to study full-time towards an undergraduate university (academic) degree.
  • Must be aiming to study full time towards an undergraduate university (academic) degree in Insurance, Business Economics, Accounting, Investment, Finance, BSc Information Technology, BIT-Bachelor of Information Technology in Business Science and Mathematics.

ITHUBA Bursary Programme (DEADLINE: 08 January, 2024)

  • The ITHUBA Bursary Programme welcomes applicants looking to pursue their dreams in Commerce, including; Accounting, Management Accounting & Finance and Marketing, as well as individuals who want to study Information Technology fields; Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Communication Networks and Software Development.
  • For the 2024 year, the ITHUBA Bursary Programme will award a number of deserving learners with 100% bursaries. The beneficiaries of these bursaries will receive all expenses paid towards their tuition including, housing, textbooks, laptops, and stipend.
