As an intern, you’ll play a crucial role in identifying and analysing valuable information from vast amounts of data to support business decision-making. Training will be provided to develop your knowledge of the business and industry, specific business units, systems, and technical job-related skills. Plus, you’ll enhance your professional interpersonal skills, including networking, communication, and time management.

Join Sasol’s Digital Business Solutions team as an intern, where you’ll be immersed in the world of data analytics and software development to drive digital transformation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Problem Formulation and Solution Development:
• Collaborate with the business to formulate and develop solutions.
Analysis:
• Conduct analysis to determine trends or patterns leading to valuable business insights.
Data Preparation and Visualisation:
• Prepare data for insights and visualisation.
• Master the art of storytelling through data visualisation.
Advanced Modeling:
• Learn and use simulation modelling to find an implementable solution for a business. Engage in advanced statistical, mathematical, simulation, optimisation, forecasting.
Advanced Analytics:
• Explore advanced analytics such as Machine Learning Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, and Generative AI.

Skills

  • Ability to problem-solve creatively.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in mathematical and statistical modeling.

Wishlist

  • Computer programming skills (e.g., R, Python, SQL).
  • Awareness of cloud environment (Microsoft Azure)
  • Familiarity with relevant visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI / open-source viz tools).

Min Experience

  • Experience: 0 – 2+ relevant years

Formal Education

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Engineering (Industrial) or Actuarial Science
