How can you make a difference? 

The main purpose of the assignment is to support the Regional Office in advancing the implementation of the new global monitoring procedure, strengthening the planning of monitoring activities (including performance, output and outcome, implementation and third-party monitoring) and drafting of the regional office Annual report and midterm review report of the ROMP.

Scope of Work:

Proposed actions:

1. Draft the Regional Office Annual Report (ROAR) based on inputs from all programmes and available documentation, ensuring that the ROAR summary narrative considers all the different analysis and documents and bring these together in one coherent accessible text which is adequate for external audiences.

2. Draft the final Mid-Term Review (MTR) report of the Regional Office Management Plan (ROMP).

3. Contribute to integration of the Data Action Plans and programme monitoring plans/activities into the Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (IMEP), leading to the design and roll out of a comprehensive IMEP for the Regional Office and Country Offices. Support its roll out with COs.

4. Conduct analysis of 2023 Core Standard Indicators (CSIs) for all MENA countries.

5. Prepare SDGs analysis for MENA, building on DAPM analysis dataset and GER analysis.

6. Conduct data processing, analysis and visualization from corporate digital tools and statistical sources.

7. Support the review of Common Country Assessment (CCAs), Situation analysis, and evidence synthesis as part of the CPD requirement.

8. Establish the regional Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) for key areas of work including Third Party Monitoring (TPM), and Data visualization/GIS mapping. 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  •  An advanced university degree (Master’s) in Social Sciences, Development Planning or a directly related technical field(s) is required. 
  •  A minimum of five (5) years of relevant UN/UNICEF experience, at the national and international levels, in programme planning, implementation, management, monitoring and/or reporting is required.
  •  Fluency in English (written & verbal) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language, especially Arabic or French, is considered an asset
  • Experience in working with Information Management Systems and administrative data is an asset.
