Isandla Internship Opportunity 2024 For Young South Africans
Isandla Institute, a dynamic organization based in Cape Town, promotes integrated, equitable, sustainable, and democratic urban habitats. Isandla engages in cutting-edge research, knowledge sharing and dialogue facilitation, institutional support, advocacy, and network politics to support urban development and transformation.
Isandla Institute is offering an internship opportunity for post-graduate students to be involved in the Backyard Matters Project which falls under the Urban Land Programme.
The successful intern will be given an opportunity to learn in a dynamic and engaged working environment and sharpen their skills in relation to research, administrative/logistical arrangements and/or media communication.
The following tasks are envisaged
1. Research
- Gather relevant data and information
- Review, summarise, and analyse relevant secondary literature
- Write/contribute to knowledge products
- Assist with and/or implementing other relevant project tasks
2. Logistics & Administration
- Assist with and/or implement logistical tasks related to activities and events (e.g. focus groups, roundtables)
- Write minutes of meetings/events
- Develop and maintain a database of contacts
3. Media and Communications
- Update organizational social media platforms
- Disseminate knowledge products
- Write/contribute to media outputs (e.g. blog posts, updates)
- Assist with and/or implementother relevant media and communications related tasks
