FAQs
1. Is Youth Opportunities Hub a recruitment agency?
No. We are an information hub that curates and shares verified opportunities such as scholarships, internships, and learnerships. We do not hire candidates directly for the roles listed unless specifically stated.
2. Do I have to pay to apply for any opportunity?
Absolutely not. Youth Opportunities Hub is a free resource. Furthermore, we strongly advise you never to pay for a job application, a “placement fee,” or a background check. Legitimate South African employers and scholarship providers will never ask for money during the application process.
3. How do I apply for an opportunity I see on the site?
Each listing will have a “How to Apply” section. Usually, this includes a link to the official provider’s website or an email address where you should send your documents. Follow those specific instructions carefully.
4. Why haven’t I heard back regarding my application?
Since you apply directly to the organization (e.g., a bank or a university), we do not have access to your application status. We recommend following up directly with the contact person listed in the original advert.
5. Are these opportunities only for South Africans?
While our primary focus is on South African youth, we do list international scholarships and global opportunities that are open to African applicants. Please check the “Eligibility” section of each post.
6. What documents do I usually need?
For most South African opportunities (internships/learnerships), you should have the following ready in PDF format:
- A certified copy of your ID.
- Your latest Academic Transcript or Matric Certificate.
- A professional, updated CV.
- A cover letter tailored to the specific role.
7. How can I stay updated on new listings?
The best way to stay informed is to:
- Join our WhatsApp Channel.
- Follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook.
