The Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program awards up to 50,000 immigrant visas each year.
The U.S. Department of State 2025 Diversity Visa Program (DV-2025) is now open (50,000 immigrant visas are granted each year)
The entry submission period for DV-2025 is from 12:00PM EDT (GMT -4) on October 4, 2023 to 12:00PM EST (GMT -5) on November 7, 2023. The entry form will only be available for submission during this period and this period only.
The Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) Program awards up to 50,000 immigrant visas each year.
The program is also known as the DV Lottery and the Green Card Lottery. It makes a limited number of immigrant visas available every year to people meeting certain eligibility requirements. These include:
- Being a citizen of a country with a low immigration rate to the United States
- Having graduated from high school or its equivalent or having qualifying work experience
Each year, the U.S. Department of State puts out a list of eligible and ineligible countries. The list of countries may change each year.
