Job Advert Summary

Internal and External applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacancy in the Finance Business Unit based at Central Depot, Bulk Water Distribution.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Bulk Water Distribution, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of finance, inventory and procurement at the BWD site.

*The potential appointment to this position shall be subject to serving a MAXIMUM probation period of up to 12 months, based on a FLEXIBLE monthly probation evaluation process before confirmation of permanent employment in Rand Water.

Minimum Requirements

1. BCom degree or equivalent in finance or accounting.
2. 10 years’ experience in an accounting/ financial environment with at least 5 years in management capacity
3. A management qualification will be an added advantage
4. Professional Certification (CA) (SA) or (CIMA) or (ACCA) will be an added advantage.
5. Computer literacy with extensive SAP experience
6. Inventory, Procurement and Accounts Management experience
7. Knowledge and experience of managing maintenance and operations warehouse or stores.
8. Strong leadership experience in a unionized environment

Primary Duties

1. Compiling and overseeing of the departmental annual budgets and forecasts.
2. Financial performance data and costs reporting and management.
3. Developing and implementing financial strategies to achieve the department’s long-term objectives.
4. Departmental Assets, inventory, financial and procurement management
5. Providing meaningful and accurate feedback on budget variance reporting
6. Supervising and managing section employees.
7. Managing the Rand Water Main Store based at Central Depot
