Sasol has announced exciting learnership opportunities for aspiring fire fighters. Fourteen positions are available, with six based in Secunda and eight in Sasolburg. These roles offer young South Africans the chance to pursue a career in fire fighting through hands-on training and structured learning.

About the Programme
The Learner Fire Fighter programme is part of Sasol’s commitment to skills development and community safety. Successful candidates will join a fixed-term learnership that combines on-the-job training with formal learning, designed to prepare them for the demands of professional fire fighting.
Learners will actively participate in all required workplace readiness activities and complete assessments to graduate from the programme.
Key Responsibilities
Participants will be required to:
- Take part in the full learnership programme and complete assessments.
- Join workplace readiness activities and practical fire fighting exercises.
- Demonstrate resilience and professionalism in high-pressure environments.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following educational and personal criteria:
- A National Senior Certificate or equivalent with passes in:
- Technical Mathematics or Mathematics
- English or Business English
- Technical or Physical Science
- Code B (or higher) driver’s licence.
- Ability to pass stress and fear assessments, including heights, confined spaces, and fire exposure.
- Successful completion of a fire fighter fitness assessment.
